Welcome Graduate Students!

Are you currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and conducting poultry-related research? This is your opportunity to present your work at the 2024 Poultry Service Industry Workshop (PSIW) at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta.


Who Can Apply?

Any graduate student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution with a research project that impacts the poultry industry.

How to Apply?

Send your application to by Friday July 19th, 2024. Your application should include:

  1. Personal Information:
    • Your name
    • School
    • Degree
    • Year of program
    • Phone number
  2. Participation Paragraph: A brief paragraph explaining why you want to participate in PSIW.
  3. Research Abstract: An abstract summarizing your research and its relevance to the poultry industry (2,500 character count maximum, including spaces and excluding titles).


Evaluation Criteria

Students will be evaluated based on:

  • Abstract Quality: Clarity, relevance, and impact of your research abstract.
  • Participation Paragraph: Demonstrated strength of character, commitment to learning, and perceived benefits of presenting.
  • Overall Application Quality: Style, grammar, coherence, and first impression.


Presentation Requirements

Winners will be required to:

  • Prepare a 10 to 12-minute oral presentation followed by a Q&A session conducted by the selection committee.
  • Attend the workshop in person to present at The Banff Centre.



Winners should expect to be notified by August 12th.
