Dressing for Success

For lectures, dress in layers as temperatures may vary.

Wear suitable shoes for walking on hilly terrain, walking is required between the hotel, education session and dining hall.

Business casual attire is recommended for the banquet dinner.

What to Pack for Banff

Pack according to the season; autumn typically has highs of 12°C and nighttime temperatures below freezing.

Venue Information

Wi-fi Availability: Wireless internet is available free of charge and the coverage is campus-wide. Look for banffcentre.ca from your computer, a password is not required.

Parking Details: Complimentary parking is available to all Banff Centre guests. Parking areas are indicated on the campus map. Please register your vehicle at check-in. The Front Desk will assign you with a parking permit for your vehicle, and will direct you to the long-term parking areas.

Bringing Family or Friends: Family members or friends not registered for your conference are welcome to accompany you. Up to one additional person may stay with you in your room at no additional charge. Children under 13 years of age stay free in parent’s room. Additional persons 13 years and over are charged at $20 plus applicable taxes per day. When booking your reservation, please be sure to indicate the number of adults and children in your party so that the most suitable room type can be assigned for you. Should the size of your party require a larger, upgraded room, you will be quoted a higher room rate than the price quoted for your conference package.

Check-In and Check-Out: Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Late check-outs incur fees. Check-in time is after 4:00 p.m on arrival day. You may try to check-in earlier, but we cannot guarantee that your room will be ready.

Airport and Shuttle Service

Calgary International Airport: The Calgary International Airport is the closest airport to Banff, at two hours away. The Calgary International Airport maintains a website with up-to-date information on transportation and accommodation information. Visit: yyc.com.

Banff Airporter shuttle service: The Banff Airporter is the official airport shuttle provider to the Banff Centre. The trip to Calgary is approximately two hours and you will be dropped off at the Professional Development Centre (PDC), where the Front Desk is located.

Brewster Travel Canada motor coach shuttles: Brewster Travel Canada offers daily motor coach shuttles to Banff from the Calgary International Airport. Reservations are required. Visit: explorerockies.com/airport-shuttles.

Buses & Taxis: The Banff bus station is a five-minute drive from Banff Centre. Call for a Taxi at 403.762.0000.
